My Priorities
Education
As the first Latina to serve as the Salem-Keizer School Board Vice Chair, I’m an experienced advocate for expanding access to public education. I served on the committee supporting the District’s Dual Language expansion, and proudly oversaw the rollout of the Spanish Dual Language program to North East Salem. When elected to the Marion County Commissioner, I will continue to advocate for our youth.
Public Health
Everyone should have access to the healthcare services they need. Marion County Health and Human Services provides vital resources to our community, and when elected, I plan to increase access and expand those services to better support working families.
Housing
Everyone deserves safe, affordable housing. As the Vice Chair of the Salem-Keizer School Board, I worked with developers to increase the number of affordable housing units in Salem. When elected, I plan to continue seeking opportunities to build creative partnerships to expand access to affordable housing across Marion County.
Transportation
I am the youngest President of the Cherriot’s Board of Directors, also known as the Salem Mass Transit District. I have years of experience as a transportation advocate and have worked to improve access to public transportation for thousands of people. During my time on the Board, I oversaw the rollout of the free youth bus pass, removing barriers for students. When elected, I will continue to advocate for increasing access to public transportation and increasing bus routes to rural areas of Marion County.
Veteran Services
Supporting veterans in Marion County is one of my highest priorities. Our community is home to a significant number of veterans who qualify for disability benefits but have not yet applied, those who have served our country with honor and deserve access to the care and support they’ve earned. I am committed to expanding outreach, removing barriers to services, and ensuring every eligible veteran is connected to critical resources like disability compensation, healthcare, and housing assistance. Taking care of those who served is our responsibility.
