Maria Hinojos Pressey is the first Latina President of the Cherriots Board of Directors, and is the former Vice Chair of the Salem-Keizer School Board.

Professionally, Hinojos Pressey is the Deputy Director for PCUN, an organization that advocates for Oregon farmworkers and working Latinx families. She previously worked with a refugee resettlement agency, helping refugees and asylum seekers obtain jobs, navigate public transportation, and settle into new homes.

She has also worked as a Latinx community advocate at the Domestic Violence Resource Center. Supporting families through difficult moments in their lives. 

Hinojos Pressey holds a Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies from the University of New Mexico and a Master's in Sociology from Arizona State University.

She is the daughter of Mexican immigrants from Chihuahua, Mexico, and currently lives in Salem with her partner Finley and their 8-year-old daughter.
